The Tasmanian Government is providing you with a free Wi-Fi service enabling internet access from this site.

  • works on most Wi-Fi enabled devices
  • operates at selected locations
  • does not require a password to connect.

Due to network capacity, streaming websites for movies, radio, TV and other on-demand content such as Netflix, while not blocked, are limited in service quality.

Responsible and appropriate use

Tasmanian Government free public Wi-Fi is provided for the benefit of the community. Use of the free Wi-Fi should be fair and community minded. Content may be blocked or filtered if it is deemed inappropriate.

Privacy

Tasmanian Government will only collect, use and store your personal information for the purposes of delivering wireless internet access in accordance with the applicable legislation and the Terms of use. IP and MAC addresses of all devices that access the Wi-Fi service will be collected and stored once you have agreed to the Terms of use.

This is a public Wi-Fi network. The Tasmanian Government cannot guarantee the security of the Wi-Fi service. Access and use of this network are at your own risk.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that usernames, passwords, and security-based information that you may use while connected to this Wi-Fi service are kept private to avoid unauthorised access.

You understand and acknowledge that by using the Tasmanian Government Free Wi-Fi service to make information available on the internet or any of its protocols, such information may become available to all Internet users. Tasmanian Government accepts no liability for the disclosure of any such information and is not liable for any loss or damage you may sustain as a result of your use of the Wi-Fi service.
