About the Program
The Tasmanian State Service Digital Careers Campaign is a Digital Strategy and Services (DSS) initiative led out of the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPAC) launched in June 2023 stemming from the whole of government Digital Workforce Capability Development Work Stream aimed to address digital and ICT skill and workforce shortage challenges being observed in the Tasmanian state service.
The aim of the Digital Careers Campaign is to raise awareness of the diversity of digital and ICT career roles and pathways to target audiences:
- School age students Years 9-12
- Tertiary and Vocational and Education (VET) students and graduates
- Career changers
- Skilled migrants
- The broader community
The Digital Careers Campaign includes digital and physical resources for students, graduates, parents, teachers, career advisors, existing staff and career changers seeking information about digital and ICT career roles and pathways and where digital and ICT skills can take you in the Tasmanian State Service.
The Digital Careers Campaign works in collaboration with the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and the ACS Foundation, TasICT, the Beacon Foundation, Department for Children, Education and Young People, TasTAFE and the University of Tasmania, to name a few, and participates in a range of initiatives and events such as: the Big Day In Tasmania ICT Careers Conference, the Fearless Festival, Rosny College Careers Expo, Tasmanian ICT Conference and Innovation Exhibition, school/college industry panel sessions and the Burnie and Hobart Show.
